In Romans 2, Paul states an important truth about the nature of God. Verse 4 states that the goodness of God leads to repentance. God is forbearing and merciful. He puts up with alot from sinners. He is longsuffeing not willing that any perish but that all come to a saving knowledge of Him.
We deserve to be punished and judged for our sin. God has every right to do that. But He desires to show His goodness in hope that we will repent.
The next verse tells us that it is our hard heart that keeps us from coming to the Lord and being broken before Him. Those who wont repent will have to answer for there rejection of the goodness of God. There will be no excuse. God has done all that is necessary to save us. He sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins in order to save us for eternity. The choice to recieve that love from Him is up to us. God is good. Enter into fellowship with Him and find that out for yourself. Repent and believe upon the Lord Jesus. He loves you.
