(The theme of Romans) Salvation by Grace through Faith

Paul says in Romans 1:16 that " I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.
Salvation. This is theme of Romans. Paul comes out in chapter one and explains right away that salvation comes in no other way than through the Lord Jesus. And it can't be recieved unless we recieve it by grace through faith. It is a free gift to anyone who humbly confesses there sin and recieves Jesus as there Lord and Saviour.
There is so much pressure in the world today to cave in and water down the gospel message. To make the gospel sound less offensive. We don't want to mention sin in church because this will drive people away. But we need to speak the truth about the gospel because that is what gives us power to be saved. To be set free from sin.
The cry from the world is " all roads lead to God". You have your way and I have mine. I saw on a car as I was commuting to work a bumper sticker that said, "COEXIST". It had all the symbols of the different religions on it. Jesus, in Matthew's gospel said that "broad is the way that leads to destruction and there are many who go that way. Narrow is the way that leads to life, and there are few who find it."
Jesus said in John 14:6 that "He is the Way, the Truth and the Life and that no could come to the Father except through Him." That was the gospel that Paul was refering to in Romans 1. The gospel that God has provided to make us righteous before Him. To make us justified, sanctified, and glorified. Praise God that He made a way for sinners to come into His presence. May we hold fast to that truth.
